Talia's story | St Nicholas Pathways student

Talia is one of the first students to enrol in the Certificate III program with St Nicholas Pathways.

Talia is 17-years-old and is currently in year 12 at the Hunter School of Performing Arts.

It is Talia’s love of children that has inspired her to pursue her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Coming from a large family, Talia has always been surrounded by children as she has six nephews and one niece.

The inquisivity of her nieces and nephews inspired Talia to learn how to better communicate with them and to get more involved with their play and learning.

Where to from here

Working toward her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care opens a number of doors for Talia and clarifies the path toward her future career.

“I knew that, because I had this traineeship lined up for me, I would then be able to get a job in the future,” Talia said. “I will be able to go further and get my diploma.”

While a Certificate III in Earlu Childhood Education and Care will qualify Talia to work in an early education setting, Through Pathways, Talia will also complete her HSC which leave the door open for other career outcomes in the future.

“Doing the traineeship through school means I am able to get my HSC which will then help me out with future jobs if I decide to head in a different direction.”
