St Nicholas Pathways
The St Nicholas Pathways SBAT Program will commence its first official round of operation in 2020 with enrolments limited. Accordingly, the selection process is expected to be competitive for this exciting education and career pathway.
St Nicholas Pathways is seeking applicants who are:
motivated to care for and educate young children;
receptive to working as part of a team;
keen to develop new knowledge and skills;
able to combine study, school and on-the-job training; and
committed to completing the SBAT Program.
As a school-based trainee your responsibilities will include:
assisting children with activities and self-care requirements within the daily routine;
following hygiene and safety procedures and using initiative to address areas needing attention;
following the guidance and directions of your mentor/room leader to contribute to the planning and documentation of children’s learning; and
working as part of a team to ensure the positive implementation of policies and associated procedures.

a nationally-recognised entry level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care;
fast-track post-secondary studies, potentially costing less time and money to obtain further qualifications in the sector;
a pathway from school to a career;
paid on-the-job training, whilst studying; and

Expression of Interest application form for the St Nicholas Pathways SBAT Program
First round of applications open 21 June 2019 and close 23 July 2019;
Second round of applications open 26 August 2019 and close 18 October 2019;
Applications should address ALL the selection criteria listed on this page;
Please keep each response to 150 words or less;
Please ensure you have informed your school careers adviser of your application;
Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview, which you should attend with a parent or guardian;
The second round of interviews will take place in late October; and
At this interview you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your suitability for the traineeship and have any of your questions answered.
